First grade is an exceptional time of learning. This is the year that many students master their foundational learning skills. Everyday is an opportunity to learn something new. The growth of our first graders is just incredible!
Many of the routines of kindergarten remain the same such as morning meeting, snack times, recess, and small group activities. However, first grade is a time when we seek to build more independence and strive to have our learners take great pride and responsibility in their learning. Students will be expected to work independently with more frequency and they will also begin to reflect on their own learning and effort.
